ATSI retains Option Year Contract
Jacksonville, FL - January 06, 2009 - Clark V. Hayes, Owner and Chief Financial Officer of Applied Technology Systems, Incorporated (ATSI)visited the Jacksonville Job Corps Center during the week of January 5th. The purpose of the visit was to thank all staff for their hard work and their contributions toward ATSI retaining the option year contract award for the operation of the center. Staff were encouraged to continue with the same zest and momentum for the upcoming contract year. He also spoke about ATSI's goals and expectations for 2009 and challenged the staff to become a model operation for the region, ATSI and the nation.The visit was concluded by committing to the staff that multiple follow up visits would be occuring for continued support of the Jacksonville operation.
U.S. Department of Labor Awards $14.5 Million to
Applied Technology Systems, Inc. for the Operation of the
Jacksonville Job Corps Center
Cleveland, OH – January 24, 2007 – Clark V. Hayes, Owner and Chief Financial Officer of Applied Technology Systems, Incorporated (ATSI) was recently awarded a federal contract through the US Department of Labor for the operation of the Jacksonville Job Corps Centers in the amount of and $14,437,932,. This action is a result of a recent competitive procurement action; the contract will be operated by ATSI beginning February 1, 2007 to January 31, 2009.
The Jacksonville Job Corps Center is located in Jacksonville, Florida and is also a co-ed residential facility, with an enrollment capacity of 350 students. The Center provide academic and vocational training, as well as a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) program and related educational programs such as employability skills, health, driver’s education, and diversity training.
Vocations available at the Jacksonville Job Corps Centers include: Business Technology (Microsoft Certification, Clerical), Facilities Maintenance, Material Handling, HVAC, Food Services, HBI (Plumbing, Carpentry and Electrical) and Allied Health Programs (STNA Pharmacy Tech - this is a sampling of the vocational services that the Centers provide).
Job Corps is part of the U.S. Department of Labor’s workforce investment system. Established in 1964 as a public and private partnership, Job Corps has served more than 2 million youth. It currently provides opportunities to more than 65,000 students a year, ages 16-24. Participants in the program receive a continuum of career development experiences and services which are personalized to each student’s needs and infused throughout all phases of training, resulting in stable employment, livable wages and career progression.

Under the leadership of Hayes’ ATSI has received other contracts and currently operates the Detroit and Cleveland Job Corps Centers and co-operates the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center, which is located in Morganfield, KY and also provides outreach and provides job placement services for the states of Mississippi and Tennessee.
